After almost 30 years of living on a planet that is 70% water, I have finally taken the plunge. I’m learning to shwimm!! I can’t call myself a mermaid as yet, cause it’s only been 5 classes , but nevertheless, considering that it took me 30 years to get into a pool, it’s an awesome achievement, wouldn’t you’ll suppose? So never mind that I share my Saturday mornings with bawling toddlers and angsty teenagers. It is an incredibly awesome feeling to be able to splash around in a pool while making the most incredible un-lady like noises. Wee Hee. If only I had known how much fun it would be to blow bubbles under- water through the nose, I might have enlisted earlier in the day.
Anyhoo, so this is what is keeping me busy on my weekends while the rest of the world is waking up late. What I also realized is that an hour of swimming exhausts the life out of me. However, my ancient body seems to be cooperating and off-late, I no longer feel the need to get a massage after getting done with my swim class.
On the other hand, I feel soo good cause I am finally making a conscious effort to stay fit. My PCP, was getting tired of asking me to stay healthy so now I have some good news for him. I’m getting in shape and how. Shwimming and Yoga. Both are routines that I have never tried before but they both seem to be working well as of now. So let’s see how long this lasts and how soon I can turn into the fish that I was meant to be.

Fab! Swimming is super fun! Make sure you learn the back stroke; that’s my favourite.
The back stroke will be mastered after I learn to float. I can flap my arms and legs and currently get by, but most other things, including floating are still a challenge.
